Lanzarote, a beautiful volcanic island just a stones throw away from Africa, a favourite of the British Holiday maker. The gorgeous island of Fuerteventura is nearby with its gorgeous white beaches. I was touched by the story of César Manrique, an artist, visionary and father of the nation who devoted his life in preserving the good things about the island but tragically died in car accident in 1992. I still felt and sensed his love and lasting legacy there and so I dedicate this film to his memory. There is little doubt that tourism provides a striking contrast to the natural beauty and peace of the island and is the economic necessity and lifeblood to the islanders. There is always a fine balance between the two.
