Val Tasso, A Greek-American filmmaker from Detroit, Michigan. He began his career in film in 2001 after working on a engineering degree at Wayne State University then relocated to Los Angeles to pursue acting and filmmaking then soon after developing his own production company, Spartan Pictures. . Val directed, produced and co-produced numerous independent films, working with magnificent actors such as Louis Mandylor, Emmy Award Winner Marla Gibbs, Dee Wallace, Bruce Vilanch, Mike Starr, Tom Arnold and also Academy Award nominees Sally Kirkland, Eric Roberts and Seymour Cassel. . He also received, along with co-director/producer partner, Jonathan Kutner, the 2010 Accolade Award of Merit for the short film “Devil’s Land”, the 1st place award for best Short film at the 2010 Fuel the Fear Festival of Horror, the win for best featurette at the 2011 Idyllwild Festival of Cinema, and official selections and nominations in over a dozen international film festivals in countries such as France, Greece, Italy, Cyprus and a nomination for Best Editing in “Devil’s Land” at Warsaw, Poland’s 2010 Grand Off Film Awards. His recent documentary film “The Nukes” received the Audience Award at the 2010 valley Village Film Festival in North Hollywood.
